The Polkadot ecosystem is undergoing a transformative journey towards greater decentralization, transitioning from a centralized model to a more distributed governance and development framework. The community has responded resiliently, with various new entities stepping forward to take on distinct roles, fostering innovation and expanding the ecosystem in unprecedented ways. This decentralized approach paves the way for a new digital society on the Web 3.0 frontier, all led by Polkadot. The campaign also presents an opportunity to explore the concept of OpenGov, as Polkadot's treasury evolves into a self-sufficient entity capable of fueling development projects, marketing initiatives, and even sponsoring events, embodying the ethos of a community-driven digital age.
The Chain Reactions series is an evergreen campaign leveraging the ongoing narratives in crypto to explore what Polkadot and its ecosystem has to offer. It engages crypto natives and broader audiences through educational videos, deep-dive threads, and infographics over a structured 1-month period for each theme.
The Stakeholder Sentiment Campaign aims to enhance Polkadot's perceived value and relevance among business-minded, entrepreneurial investors, generating excitement and fostering a bullish sentiment regarding its technology and vibrant community. Punctuated by case studies, research reports, and industry team examples utilizing the Polkadot SDK, the key objectives are to improve Polkadot's brand recognition and esteem within the investment community, drive increased investor engagement and interest in opportunities, and showcase Polkadot's technological advantages, scalability, interoperability, and growing ecosystem strength. By positioning Polkadot as a leading, innovative blockchain ecosystem with groundbreaking potential, the campaign will highlight its unique features and community to attract entrepreneurial investors.
Why the campaigns were delayed and have ran into Q3?
Following the proposal's approval, the allocated budget was not effectively disbursed until late in Q2 as we missed the payout window and needed to wait an extra 24 days.
This delay, coinciding with the development of the new Polkadot website, has resulted in several Q2 campaigns extending into Q3 and meant that we were slowed down slightly in our ability to initiate payments for creative services, analytical reports, and other essential resources.
That said, we managed to kick off some campaigns using our own funds and Q2 has been a period of significant activity both from a campaign perspective but also from the perspective of events, co-marketing, ecosystem resources, and social media marketing, all of which Distractive is also involved in. We are pleased to present key insights from our efforts below.

Planned activities with remaining budget over Q3 and Q4:
Campaign | Item |
---|---|
Chain Reactions x 3 (Q3 and Q4) | Due to the positive results we saw from Chain Reactions in Q2, we plan to continue this series. We have found it to be a great way to connect and amplify projects within the ecosystem and grow awareness and share of voice for Polkadot and Polkadot projects. |
Stakeholder Sentiment | With the launch of various research reports about Polkadot, we plan to amplify these via paid media to drive and increase the awareness of the growth and developments within Polkadot. |
Spotlight Series | We plan to continue with our proposed $30K media spend to amplify the Spotlight Videos we are making to highlight key individuals and initiatives within Polkadot, to the wider blockchain ecosystem. |
Polkadot 2.0 | A new initiative for Q3 and Q4 is to begin pushing the narrative of Polkadot 2.0. |
Community Initiatives | We plan to keep some buffer budget incase we find great community initiatives in which we can help amplify. |
